Amaco Velvet Terra Cotta Brush-on Underglaze

Amaco Velvet Terra Cotta Brush-on Underglaze

SKU: V303

Amaco Terra Cotta Velvet Underglaze is a warm cinnamon brown that is much darker with a clear glaze on top at any temperature. At cone 05, it is red-brown and reminiscent of the clay it is named after. It darkens at cone 5 and becomes a deep chocolate colour at cone 10.

Amaco Terra Cotta Velvet Brush on underglaze has saturated colour, dependability, and versatility making the Amaco Velvets as popular for professionals as they are for children.

  • Velvets fire true-to-colour as a Cone 05/06 underglaze or fired to Cone 6.
  • Some colours remain true as high as Cone 10.

Try two finish possibilities:

  • When left unglazed these colours have the rich textural appearance of velvet.
  • When covered with a Clear Transparent Matte or Clear Gloss Glaze they intensify in colour.

Good to Know:

  • Can be easily applied to wet clay, greenware, or mature Cone 04 bisque.
  • Saturated Colour
  • Apply to unfired clay or bisque.
  • True to colour, unfired colour similar to fired colour.
  • Can be used with or without glaze.
  • Sprayable
  • Non-toxic (lead-free)– Perfect for tableware. Please follow manufacturer instructions.
