Botz Pro Agate Grey Brush-on Glaze
Agate Grey 9302 is a calming and fresh mid to light grey glaze with a striking semi-transparent glassy surface finish. The brush-one glaze is a popular choice for tableware designs, and can be used to create beautiful stoneware, earthenware, and porcelain pottery pieces. Botz recommend (from 1200°C) in high firing for tableware, clays are almost always sintered and hence the dishes are suitable for food, so therefore the glaze can be applied to your tableware without any worries. The Botz Pro Agate Grey is easy to apply and will give you lots of exciting possibilities to create some stunning pottery designs with a glossy strong shining finish to your pottery pieces. The hotter the glaze is fired the more it will flow and become semi-transparent.
Extremely easy to use in a broad firing range from 1020°C to 1280°C (cone 05-04 to cone 8-9)
- At 1050°C the glaze is very colourful and almost opaque. Apply 2-3 glazing coats.
- At 1150°C the glaze is vibrant in colour with a semi-transparent surface. Apply two glazing coats.
- At 1250°C the glaze is glassy, semi-transparent with intensive pastel shades, which is fabulous on porcelain clay. Apply two glazing coats.
Good to know:
- Works in combination with underglaze colours.
- Colours can be mixed to create a unique palette.
- Will flow more at a higher temperature.
- Suitable for Earthenware, Stoneware, Porcelain
- Suitable for Raku Kilns
- Tends to run when applied thickly from 1150°C.
