Botz Pro Smoky Quartz Brush-on Glaze
Smoky quartz Bots Pro 9314 glaze will have your pottery masterpieces looking fantastic, the glassy semi-transparent glaze is a beautiful noble light/mid grey with brown speckles that will compliment your pottery designs. Botz Pro brush-on glazes are perfect for stoneware, earthenware, and tableware. Botz recommend (from 1200°C) in high firing for tableware, clays are almost always sintered and hence the dishes are suitable for food, so therefore the glaze can be applied to your tableware without any worries.
Extremely easy to use in a broad firing range from 1020°C to 1280°C (cone 05-04 to cone 8-9)
- At 1050°C the glaze is very colourful and almost opaque. Apply 2-3 glazing coats.
- At 1150°C the glaze is delicately speckled with a rather semi-transparent surface. Apply two glazing coats.
- At 1250°C the glaze is glassy, semi-transparent with intensive pastel shades, speckles become streaks on vertical surfaces. Apply two glazing coats.
Good to know:
- Works in combination with underglaze colours.
- Colours can be mixed to create a unique palette.
- Will flow more at a higher temperature.
- Suitable for Earthenware, Stoneware, Porcelain
- Suitable for Raku Kilns
- Tends to run when applied thickly from 1150°C.
- Non-toxic (lead-free)– Perfect for tableware. Please follow manufacturer instructions.
