PRGM Golden Brown Sculpture/Raku Clay
Golden brown sculpture/raku clay with 40% coarse grog 0-1.5 mm (up to 12 Mesh). Formulated for artistic ceramics, it is ideal for large sculptural works, murals, and big Raku pieces. The high content of grog confers a beautiful, rugged texture and an excellent behaviour during drying and firing. It’s amazing firing colour, with different tones of golden brown, highlights the relief of the piece, and becomes an ideal artistic mean of expression. Available in extruded body (moist form).
- Firing range: 1240-1300°C / Cone 6-10
- Biscuit temperature: 1000°C
- Water content: 21%
- Plasticity (IP Atterberg): 19
- Carbonate content (CaCO3): 0%
- Drying shrinkage: 6.8%
- Firing shrinkage 1300°C: 5.7%
- Porosity (water absorption) 1300ºC: 8.7%
- Dry bending strength: 2.7 N/mm2
- Fired bending strength 1300°C : 19.3 N/mm2
- Thermal coefficient 1250°C (25-500°C ): 71.0x10^-7ºC^-1
(*) Firing range recommended for the clay to develop its best performance, both in terms of technical and safety characteristics, under conventional firing conditions. The colour samples may show temperatures outside the recommended range to provide a broader view, but these are pieces fired under controlled conditions. Cone equivalence according to Orton table for self-supporting cones, regular-SSB and 150°C/hr heating rate.
