Earthstone ES50 Crank Stoneware Clay
Hand builders and sculptors will be delighted with this superb new crank body. It is an open textured, coarsely grogged clay, which still retains tremendous plasticity. It has all the qualities you expect from crank e.g. warp resistance, low shrinkage and excellent green and fired strength. It fires 1160°C - 1300°C and gives toasted buff in oxidation and a rich, warm speckled orange buff under reduction and is suitable for raku firing. Suitable for throwing, hand building, sculpture, and large tiles.
- Temperature Range 1160 - 1300 °C.
- Shrinkage (w-d) 3 - 5%
- Shrinkage (d-f) 5 - 7%
- Expansion at 500°C - 0.22%.
- Texture (1-smooth 10 coarse) 10.
- Fired colour: Warm Buff.
