Earthstone ES60 Textured Crank Stoneware Clay
A fine grogged alternative to our ES 60, offering a finer surface and closer texture. This clay should appeal greatly to hand builders and sculptors who require a warm, plastic clay with excellent green strength, but need a smoother finish than standard cranks can offer. It is suitable for reduction firing, and Raku. It fires 1160°C-1300°C and gives toasted buff in oxidation and warm speckled orange buff under reduction. Suitable for throwing, hand building, sculpture, tiles, and Raku.
- Temperature Range 1160 - 1300°C.
- Shrinkage (w-d) 3 - 5%
- Shrinkage (d-f) 5 - 7%
- 0.24% expansion at 500°C.
- Texture (1-smooth 10 coarse) 7.
- Fired colour: Warm Buff.
