Mayco Stoneware Fossil Rock Brush-on Glaze
Mayco’s SW-197 Fossil Rock Brush-on Glaze geologically inspired with mottled earth tones, Fossil Rock is an opaque, tan, matte glaze that breaks over texture cone 6 oxidation. Cone 10 glaze shifts ivory with soft grey and warm brown marbling. Breaks slate grey over texture. Glaze remains stable.
Stoneware matte glazes range from solid shades to those that create interesting colour variations as they move and break. Application thickness is the key to making mattes work for you.
Good to know:
- Mayco's Stoneware glazes are formulated to be friendly to the user in application and firing.
- This glaze is generally stable at 3 coats. Additional coats or increased application thickness may result in glaze movement. We recommend firing our matte glazes to cone 6 to produce a satin matte finish.
- Non-toxic (lead-free)– Perfect for tableware. Please follow manufacturer instructions.
- Designed to fire to cone 6 (approx. 1230°C.)
- Successfully used at cone 10, oxidation or reduction
- Glazes will move to create interest and visual appeal without running off your ware and ruining your kiln shelves.
- They work well with each and other Mayco glazes, providing endless opportunities to combine and layer to create intriguing visual effects.
