Mayco Stoneware Opal Lustre Brush-on Glaze

Mayco’s SW-219 Opal Lustre Brush-on is a glossy, semi-opaque glaze that displays variegated shades of blues, greens, and purples. Breaks warm brown over texture cone 6 oxidation. Cone 10 colour flattens, and warm undertones come through.

Stoneware classic glazes offer the depth, sophistication and reliability to artists working from mid-range to high-fire temperatures. Many glazes will break over textures, revealing secondary colours and shades. Used alone, stoneware glazes produce beautiful colour variations. One coat will allow the clay body to show through the glaze and two to three coats deeper the colour. The choice of clay body, thickness of glaze application, firing process and temperature will affect the fired finish.

• Mayco's Stoneware glazes are formulated to be friendly to the user in application and firing.
• This glaze is semi-fluid at 3 coats. Additional coats or increased application thickness may result in movement. Can be used in oxidation or reduction firings. Results may vary. The choice of clay body, thickness of application, firing process, and temperature will greatly affect the fired results. Always test your application on your clay body in your kiln environment.
• Non-toxic (lead-free)– Perfect for tableware. Please follow manufacturer instructions.
• Designed to fire to cone 6 (approx. 1230°C.)
