Mayco Stoneware Riptide Brush-on Glaze
Mayco’s SW-195 Riptide Brush-on Glaze is a satin-matte, opaque, variegated turquoise/green glaze that breaks over texture and develops a glossy finish where thick or pooling cone 6 oxidation. Cone 10 shifts grey with white/turquoise variegation. Glaze remains stable.
Stoneware matte glazes range from solid shades to those that create interesting colour variations as they move and break. Application thickness is the key to making mattes work for you.
Good to know:
- Mayco's Stoneware glazes are formulated to be friendly to the user in application and firing.
- This glaze is generally stable. Additional coats or increased application thickness may result in movement. Thin application results in finely variegated colour. Variegation is exaggerated with application thickness. We recommend firing our matte glazes to cone 6 to produce a satin matte finish.
- Non-toxic (lead-free)– Perfect for tableware. Please follow manufacturer instructions.
- Designed to fire to cone 6 (approx. 1230°C.)
- Successfully used at cone 10, oxidation or reduction
- Glazes will move to create interest and visual appeal without running off your ware and ruining your kiln shelves.
- They work well with each and other Mayco glazes, providing endless opportunities to combine and layer to create intriguing visual effects.
