Potterycrafts Nordic Blue Mist Powder Glaze

SKU: P2576-01

The Nordic Blue Mist Powder glaze has been specially developed by Potterycrafts to bring reactive glazes to our customers.

A diverse array of outcomes can be produced from the same glaze by differing the application style and variable glaze thickness in our powder glazes and all the glazes within the Nordic range can be over laid to create unique results.

Different rates of heating and cooling within the firing can achieve an array of outcomes, especially on embossed ware.

  • Temperature Range: 1200 - 1240°C.
  • Colour: Blue.
  • Non-toxic (lead-free)– Perfect for tableware. Please follow manufacturer instructions.
  • Vertical form - fired on standard Porcelain - 1240°C.

Mixing instructions to produce a dipping glaze.

For every 1kg of powder add 650mls of water.

Because these powders contain a small addition of a glaze binder it is necessary to allow the mixture to stand overnight to allow the binder to dissolve and be absorbed.

Then mix and blend the glaze together before sieving through a 60’s-80’s mesh sieve. Depending on the porosity of the biscuit it may be necessary to add more water to produce a satisfactory dipping glaze.
