

Stoneware Bisque Mug
This Stoneware Bisque mug is unglazed classic bisque blank ideal for painting and personalising. These items are typically painted with underglaze colours then dipped in a suitable clear glaze or kiln-firing for a smooth, durable, food-safe surface.
The Stoneware clay is nice and white providing an excellent surface for hand painting. If using for other decorating methods test first.
The recommended glaze firing temperature is 1220°C for all our Stoneware bisque items.
The dimensions provided are a guide for the finished product size. Please add approximately 6% (x1.06) to obtain the bisque item size.

If kiln firing, please check the following:
- Bottom kiln shelf should be raised up at least 1cm from the base of the kiln.
- Avoid flat items on the bottom shelf, these are likely to be under fired.
- Finish the loading with a kiln shelf above the top items to ensure they reach full temperature.
- Soak / Hold the top temperature for at least 30 minutes to achieve and even heat throughout the kiln.
Typical firing cycles:
- 0°C to 500°C at 150°C per hour (200 minutes)
- 500°C to 1000°C at 100°C per hour. (280 minutes)
- 1000°C to 1200°C at 80°C per hour. (150 minutes)
- 1200°C to 1240°C at 50°C per hour. (30 minutes)
- Hold / Soak time at top temperature 30 to 50 Minutes.
