Tiranti Synthetic Onyx Filler Powder
Alumina Trihydrate (ATH) is an off-white to cream-coloured filler that produces excellent translucent effects, closely resembling natural onyx and certain types of marble.
When added to clear casting resins, ATH reduces transparency to create an opaque, milky-white, or off-white finish. For a brighter white appearance, compatible white pigments can be added.
ATH can be incorporated into casting resins at loading levels of up to 200% by weight, equivalent to 200g of filler per 100g of mixed resin. It is compatible with all of our casting resin systems.
Recommended Mixing Ratios
- Typical ratios range from 2:1 to 5:1 (filler to resin by weight), depending on the desired appearance and performance.
- Lower filler levels provide greater translucency and improved flow.
- Higher filler levels create an opaquer, stone-like finish and can help reduce material costs, although they will increase the viscosity of the resin.
